Clara Cluck was 'Miss Macdairmid'! (not sure of spelling.) Us prefects used to send the first years to ask for her in the staff room on their first day......
I've still got my school gym slip - beat that!
Memories are made of this!
RA - Left for Cathkin High 1970.

Webmaster comments   I've still got my first year PE shorts complete with all the &%$£*"!*... AND they still fit me...just.
Beat that! ;-)

I like the site, but my English is very poor. Are you planning to add French version?

Webmaster comments   Malheureusement 'non' Nigelia. Comme vous pouvez voir mon Français n'est vraiment pas assez bon.

Left RA in 1963 or 64. Have just looked out old school photo!! Recall Mr Patterson (headmaster), Norman Buchan (Charlie), (still have my copy of 101 Scottish Folk Songs), Big Bill Jackson, Dan Livingston, Joe Cowper, 'Clara Cluck' who taught maths - can't for the life of me recall her surname, but think we might have caused her to have a nervous breakdown. She fancied a very overweight Latin teacher and was always greasing up to him. Ma Murphy who took music - have a memory of one classes where we all sang loudly and held the last note for ages which drowned out the bell for the end of the period. She was so delighted by our enthusiasm that the class ran over by about 15 minutes to the annoyance of the following class teacher no doubt. Also Mr Irvine who the girls all fancied. Certainly brings back lots of memories, mostly good.

Webmaster comments   Although before my time the name 'Clara Cluck' rings bells probably because my big cousin Jim (RA 1961-67) got her for maths as well. Sadly I cannot help with a surname. Anyone...?

I was one of the Academy boys left behind at Stonelaw when Cathkin was opened. On our first day at the Gallowflat annexe a psycho of a tech teacher announced that he hated us from the first time he taught us ( at that particular moment our teacher/pupil relationship was about 15 seconds long ) and he was going to make the rest of lives hell !!! Oh how we missed the loving caring considerate Forsyth and Seggie.

Webmaster comments   I can well believe it Stuart.

Webmaster comments   I understand from Mr Forsyth's daughter that he is 'tickled pink' to be on the Internet now.
