By way of comparison, the pictures below were taken on Saturday afternoon 12th October 2002, with a Kodak DX4900 digital camera, at the old Rutherglen Academy site in Melrose Avenue - now a modern development of residential apartments known as ‘Academy Gate’.

Where some of us caught the big orange and green Corpy bus to Burnside at four o’clock. In 1969 the fare was 4d half-single - which often went on sweeties from the cabin, meaning swift recourse to Shanks’s Pony.
