Here is the reading list Mrs Innes handed out to 1F pupils in September 1969. We copied Group 1 into our jotters on Wednesday 17th and Group 2 the following day, Thursday 18th.

                                                             HOME READING

First Term we’d to read three from Group 1 and one from Group 2. Second Term: two from Group 1 and two from Group 2. Third Term: One from Group 1 and one from Group 2. However, I only remember reading two in toto: She Shall Have Music,  about a wee girl who wanted to play the piano, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which needs no special comment.
